General Questions

A school can send a team that consists of either MSc/MBA students or undergraduate students. Ph.D. students are also allowed.

There are 4 students per team (two boys and two girls), plus an optional faculty advisor.

Currently we are limiting registration to one team per school, one for each European Country. Due to logistical constraints, the maximum number of teams is 42.

 To reserve a spot for RETC 2026, please fill out the online Team Registration Form (Step 1 of the registration process). The form should be filled out by a faculty/staff member (pdf) or a student (pdf).
Registration is on a “first-come first-serve basis”, so please fill out the Team Registration Form as soon as possible. Shortly after, a confirmation will be sent out and the school will appear on the teams page.
 The second step of the registration process (Step 2) is the Team Member Profile Form (pdf). RETC will compile a participant booklet, which will be available to all competitors, faculty and sponsors. Team member profiles will help identify teams for networking opportunities with students and sponsors that have similar interest.
 All team members’ CVs must be sent by email to retc@luiss.it. They will be included in the Participant CVs booklet (distributed to sponsors).
 Each team must prepare a slide (template provided) and send it by email to retc@luiss.it. Slides will be posted on the website and projected during the opening session.
 The Waiver Form (Rules & Code of Conduct) must be submitted by the Team Leader (or Faculty Advisor) on behalf of the entire team. By signing, the Team Leader/Faculty Advisor confirms that all team members have read and agreed to the Rules and Code of Conduct.
 The last step of the registration process is the payment of the competition fee: EUR 500 per team.
The competition fee is not required to reserve a spot. However, the fee must be paid by June 30, 2026 to confirm participation. After this date, unconfirmed spots may be reassigned.

Accommodation costs for RETC 2026, including seven meals (Thursday Dinner, Friday Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner, Saturday Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner), will be fully covered by LUISS. Meals will be served at the university canteen (“mensa”). The 2026 RETC menu is available here. Travel costs for RETC 2026 will not be covered by LUISS.

All accommodation arrangements will be made and funded by LUISS. University faculty/staff (+ their partner) and students will be accommodated in two LUISS residences (please see the map) from Monday, July 27th to Monday, August 3rd, 2026. The name of the residence will be communicated to you by email.

LUISS has booked 3 rooms per team. Two rooms for students, each with two twin queen-size beds, and one room for the faculty advisor, with a single/double king-size bed.

Rome has a typical Mediterranean climate. The summers are hot and humid, with temperatures ranging from 22 to 35 degrees Celsius (72 to 95 Fahrenheit). For more information on Rome weather forecast, please see here.

RETC is a professional business competition, so we expect teams to dress appropriately. The exception is for the two outcry events where competitors often find it easier to find each other in the pit if they wear distinguishing clothing (such as noticeable hats, jerseys, or trading jackets). The dress code for the Gala Dinner is smart casual to formal.

Teams of four students (equally divided by gender) will have the opportunity to win EUR 10,000 in cash prizes.
